Who Is That Sony Palm Pilot And Is It Worth Getting?

A Sony Plam pilot? It's just another name for the Sony Clie line of products, which uses the Palm OS operating system.

The Sony Palm pilot are different from other PDA's by unique features as a jog-wheel interface, a Memory Stick slot, ATRAC3 audio playback, and high-resolution displays. These features made them unique at the beginning of their way, but since that, many other pocket PC manufacturers caught on and started making their own versions of the like.

The Clie was released in series, each series containing a few models. Here's a chronological list of the models that were released in the last few years.

" S series (2000-2002)
" T series (2001-2003)
" N series (2001-2002)
" NR series (2002)
" SL/SJ series (2002-2003)
" NX series (2002-2004)
" NZ series (2003-2004)
" TG series (2003-2004)
" UX series (2003-2004)
" TJ series (2003-2004)
" TH series (2004-2004)
" VZ series (2004-2005) (Japan only)

As of 2005, the Clie line was announced by Sony to be terminated (the last VZ series models were manufactured and marketed in Japan only). The Clie PDA's still enjoy quite a few fans, and are continuing to be sold on various places such as Amazon.com. This symbolizes the contribution of Sony Plam pilot to the world of PDA
